Whiskey Jack Lodge

We are one of Canada's premier fishing and bowhunting camps located in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 68 miles north of Ignace. The lodge is situated on a remote bay of the Northeast Arm of Sturgeon Lake. While Sturgeon Lake offers great angling, Whiskey Jack also offers you the chance to fish many remote lakes for an even more exciting experience.

Whiskey Jack's spread covers 13 acres, including 8 fully modern cabins and a beautiful knotty pine paneled lodge. Both American and Housekeeping Packages are available for the cabins. Our lodge offers dining facilities (American Plan only), satellite TV, tackle shop, and a great place to get together to discuss the day's catch. The indoor fish cleaning house is well maintained, has running water, and a chest freezer to ensure your catch can be taken care of properly.
Bear - Whiskey Jack's bear area consist of over 400 square miles of exclusive hunting territory. Over 75 baits are maintained on a daily basis with bow shots ranging from 8-12 yards. This provides great opportunities to harvest Pope & Young class black bear. We will assist you in tracking, skinning and preparing your trophy as part of your hunt.
Moose - Experience the rush of harvesting North America's largest antlered-animal with a bow! Northwest Ontario's average bull weighs 800-1000 pounds, with spreads of 48"-58" and over! We use the calling & stalking method with most shots being under 40 yards. Guided and unguided hunts are available. All hunts include tracking, skinning and quartering. Small Game - Combine your fishing trip with small game hunting! Grouse & Rabbits are very abundant in our area and are hunted along the edge of logging roads. Ducks are hunted in small rice ponds. See the rates page for our small game/fishing package.
Sturgeon Lake, over 50 miles long, nevertheless provides fishing opportunities under almost any weather conditions, thanks to its many bays and islands. All major game species (walleyes, lakers, and northerns) are numerous. Unlike the fishing in some other camps, which is good only in May and June, Sturgeon Lake provides great fishing throughout the summer and winter seasons. A special camp-wide fish fry on Wednesdays rounds out the basic package.
Whiskey Jack also offers GREAT angling on remote lakes. Some of the smaller lakes require a little extra effort to get to (a truck with decent clearance is suggested for running the roads to most of them), but these lakes are seldom fished. Teeming with walleyes and northerns, the potential for trophy-sized lunkers lures the adventurous. The boats on these waters are included in the price of a week's boat rental, so there are NO extra charges for these special excursions (you can, of course, rent boats by the day if you prefer). Day Guided Trips - Let one of our experienced guides take you by 4x4 into the remote wilderness of beautiful northwestern Ontario. You'll fish hidden lakes that are seldom fished, view our wildlife in their natural habitat from Caribou to Timber Wolf, and enjoy the tranquility that only the true northwoods of Ontario can provide. And at midday, you'll be treated to a traditional Canadian shore lunch prepared for you by your personal guide. Truly an experience you won't want to miss.
Daily Fly-Outs - For the adventurous angler and the experience of a lifetime, daily fly out service can be arranged to any of our remote lakes. Your fly-out begins early, allowing you a full day of unforgettable angling and you are returned to the comfort and conveniences of your cabin that evening. Conservation limits apply for our fly-out remote lakes.
