Fly in to Pickle lake Outposts for northwestern Ontario's most spectacular freshwater fishing. Catch walleye or northern pike at any one of our 8 remote outpost cabins. Fly in only access assures you complete fishing privacy. "Own" a lake for a week -it's what a fly in outpost experience is all about!

Fly with Pete Johnson's Pickle Lake Outposts to Northern Ontario's last frontier and experience truly memorable Canadian wilderness fishing for northern pike & walleye.

Once you've experienced the thrill of a fly-in wilderness fishing trip, you'll want to return year after year. With fly-in only access to 10 different camps, you'll be treated to fast, furious fishing that you can only find at a fly-in.

Choose from Assin Lake, North Caribou Lake, South Pipestone Lake, Wastayanipi Lake, Neawagank Lake, Markop Lake, Forester Lake, Skinner Lake, Williams Lake, or Morris Lake. Visit our outpost page for details on each outpost.

South Pipestone - Northern Ontario is famous for its clear cold lakes and rivers. If you are familiar with this region, you have probably heard of the more famous rivers such as the Albany, the Severn and the Winisk. All these famous rivers have one thing in common, they are fed by lesser known, secondary river systems which eventually combine to form one powerful river. The Pipestone is one of these secondary river systems. Several years ago, we discovered a calm 5 mile section of this river that produced exceptional walleye and northern pike fishing. It is perhaps one of the most unique stretches of the Pipestone River which is actually the northern fork of the Pipestone which, as the map shows, splits into two sections ten miles south of the camp. Keep in mind that although the Pipestone is a fast moving river, this north fork of the Pipestone is actually similar to a narrow lake and presents no challenge to even the most novice boat and motor operators. The camp is designed for a group of 4-8 and is one of our more modern camps featuring a screened-in porch to ensure relaxing bug-free evenings. As always, you never have to travel far from camp to experience the action on walleye and northern pike which northern Ontario is famous for. If you are like most fishermen, you will want to explore new waters and the South Pipestone provides unlimited opportunities to explore new and interesting water. If your group wants to experience fast white water fishing, there are opportunities for this both up and down stream from the camp. You will only need to travel 1/2 mile to reach the fast water to the north or about 5 miles to the south end rapids, but once here, you can enjoy hours of fishing the numerous pools below the rapids primarily for 2-3 lb walleyes.

Our base camp is located literally at the "end of the road" where you'll fly in on a float plane to the lake of your choice. Just drive up Highway 599 north of Ignace to the Town of Pickle Lake and let your adventure begin.

Neawagank Lake - Neawagank Lake has consistently remained the first choice of many of our long term guests, year after year! It's a combination of the fishing, the accommodations and the vast water network that keeps bringing serious Walleye and Northern fishermen back to Neawagank time and time again. Many groups have fished Neawagank every season for the past 5 years and they still have not explored it all. It's no wonder! The lake itself is over 21 miles long which translates into hundreds of miles of shoreline, most of which is indented with countless weedy bays and feeder streams. Neawagank Lake is fed by the Pineimuta River which forms part of the Northern Canada's Arctic Watershed. The river ensures a continual source of food, oxygen and frigid waters which keep both the walleye and northern pike in an aggressive feeding mood all season long! This is one of our largest camps and is located on a long sand beach at the half way mark of this 21 mile stretch of water, giving you easy access to either end of the lake. Neawagank is ideally suited for large groups of 6-10 and in addition features a relaxing sauna.

Skinner Lake is the ideal outpost for a group of 4-6 fishermen. This recently completed outpost features running water and solar power, making it one of the most requested locations. But its not just the accommodations which makes this lake so popular. Fishermen enjoy the variety offered by Skinner Lake and the Opap River which combine to make this outpost a top producer of walleye and trophy northern pike. The camp is located on the northwest shore, just a mile from the mouth of the Opap river - giving you easy access to numerous miles of prime fishing water. Are you planning a late summer or fall fishing trip? If so, talk to us about booking on Skinner Lake. Although this location is famous for fast fishing all season long, it is especially known for consistently producing late summer and fall trophy northerns. Make your fall booking now to ensure dates of your choice. The exceptional fishing on Skinner Lake is complemented by the numerous sandy beaches contrasted by rugged rocky shorelines making it one of the most picturesque and memorable outpost location in this region.
