Lake Minnewanka lies in the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Banff National Park, just a short 15 minute drive from the town site.We operate three, 48 passenger tour boats on the lake, several times daily from mid May to mid October. This magnificent cruise consists of a 1.5 hour interpretive tour of Lake Minnewanka and surrounding area. Our experienced crew will guide you through this rugged paradise richly steeped in history, native folklore and geology. The narration is entertaining and informative. You will learn about the wildlife and vegetation that inhabit these mountains, the early explorers who named them and the tremendous forces that created them. The Lake Minnewanka valley offers some of the most interesting and spectacular scenery found anywhere in the Canadian Rockies.

Lake Minnewanka is know historically as a “fisherman’s paradise” and is rated in the top 10 of lake trout fisheries in Canada. Located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Banff National Park, Lake Minnewanka is famous for big Lake Trout and oversized Rocky Mountain Whitefish. You’ll fish with Bald Eagles, Loons and Osprey in this stunning mountain setting. Lake Minnewanka is a spectacular mountain lake that winds through an S-shaped valley, 28 kilometers long (18 miles) and up to 150 meters deep. (450 feet) No wonder the "monsters" lurk in the depths.

Lake Minnewanka Boat Tours offers the premier fishing experience in Banff National Park. Our Charter Fishing fleet includes four 22 foot "cabin cruisers" including delivery for the 2008 season of two brand new custom-built Hewescraft "Sea Runner" fishing boats. All boats are fully equipped with everything you’ll require, including rods, reels, tackle and the most modern electronic and sonar equipment to help locate the fish.

Our boats are all Transport Canada approved, complete with mandated safety equipment and two-way radio contact with our dock office for your comfort and assurance while on you charter fishing expedition. The boats can be completely enclosed and are heated to insure your comfort, so never worry about the weather. Trips are based on four and one half hours and include the services of our licensed & highly professional guides. Blair Walberg, our Career Fishing Guide, has fished Lake Minnewanka for over 18 years with amazing results. Blair has personally trained all our fishing guides and has passed along his extensive knowledge – and secrets. Our job is to take you to the fish - we know where they are.
