Your hosts, Gary and Judy Turner and their family are 2nd generation owners of White Sands Camp for the past 40+years, for fishing and hunting on Sturgeon Lake, Northwestern Ontario, Canada. We are 72 miles north of Ignace on Hwy 599, just 6 miles south of Savant Lake. Our camp is located on the north end of Sturgeon Lake on Horizontal Bay. Our bay is dark stained water that is good for walleye and northern. The clear deep waters of Sturgeon is excellent for lake trout, and the many bays, points, and deep weeds offer excellent structure for exciting action for large northerns and walleyes. Our fish cleaning house is located lakeside with running water, electricity for fillet knifes, stainless steel counter tops for easy clean up and cutting boards available to clean fish on. Wrapping paper and freezing space is provided.
White Sands Camp has a fabulous area to hunt in. Whether you choose spring or fall bear, (pre-baited stands) moose, grouse or rabbit- you'll find miles and miles of uninhabited wilderness to find game in.
Our camp is situated on a level, sandy point on the north end of magnificent Sturgeon Lake where walleye, lake trout, northern pike and whitefish are very plentiful. Our main camp location allows you to fish many miles of safe water in all weather.
You can also choose to fish in many other good fishing lakes nearby which are accessible by road. Your cabin at White Sands Camp is only a few feet from the water's edge.
Inside your cabin you will find flush toilets, refrigerator, propane cook stove, thermostatically controlled heat and all the equipment you need to make your meals.
You can fly from our base camp to one of our Outposts in Wabikimi Park to fish or moose hunt in the fall. Each Outpost is the only one on a lake offering trophy northern pike fishing.
