Each year, many sportsmen and their families fly in and enjoying the adventure of landing a trophy size fish and real seclusion at one of our outpost cabins in the wilderness of Canada where your only company might be the call of a loon or the splash of a fighting fish.
We offer a wide variety of fish at our ten Walsten Outpost locations including Walleye, Northerns, Smallmouth Bass and Lake Trout. We are the only camp on the lake in several of our locations. We invite you to compare our accomodations and service with any other operation.
We offer an even more remote location at McCusker Lake, with spectacular fishing on a pristine Canadian lake. Step ashore anywhere, and you will likely be the first. Clear waters, fabulous fishing and true wilderness. Last year, the largest northern landed in Ontario was caught in McCusker.
Our outposts are well constructed log cabins and furnished for your comfort - fully equipped for house-keeping with all utensils, dishes for cooking and eating, propane gas stove, refridgerator and lights, comfortable beds and posturepedic mattresses, wood stove for heating when required. All our cabins are fully equipped with hot and cold running water, showers and a uniquely designed solar electric system for fluorescent and incandescent lighting. Fishing rates are quoted for a minumum of 4-6 persons. Hunting rates are quoted for a minimum of 2 persons. A deposit of $100 per person is required, refundable if replacement secured.
Roger Lake Eagle Point Lodge - This is a deluxe cabin, completed in 1991. Roger is a beautiful lake abundant with Walleyes, Smallmouth Bass and very aggressive Northern Pike. Fly-in fishing for bass is rare - come to Roger Lake to experience how good it can be. Bring what you know about fishing to Roger Lake and you will be rewarded. It is not a matter of whether you will catch fish, only how many and how big. You may discover some other varities of animals on your visit. Keep an eye out.
Roger Lake Outpost - One of our "BIG 3". Fish the well known Sturgeon river system for "Lunker" Walleye, Trophy Northern and abundant Smallmouth Bass. All can be found throughout the seven miles of rugged Roger Lake waters. Original Roger has several varieties of fish. Walleyes, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass are abundant and easy to catch. Fly-in fishing for bass is rare - come to Roger Lake to experience how good it can be. You will also observe other kinds of life around Roger Lake's waters.
Trout Lake Lodge - Newly remodelled cabin in the fall of 1989. Beautiful, clear, spring fed lake abundant with "BIG" Smallmouth Bass, lots and lots of Lake Trout and very aggressive Northern Pike. To catch the fish mentioned above, all you need is patience. Friendly staff will give you a couple of tips to start you out before you leave. It is not a matter of whether you will catch fish, only how many and how big. Fly-in fishing lakes for bass are rare - we only have two. Come to Trout Lake to experience how good it can be. You may also see other animals, keep an eye on the water and shore, and you're sure to see lots of wildlife.
Joe's Lake - We have the only cabin on the lake. An extremely private lake where you can fish for (and constantly catch) Walleye and Northern. Two portage lakes provide more exciting Walleye, and even bigger Northern Pike action. Joe's Lake has the top two varieties (Walleye, and Northern Pike). The fish are fiesty, and itching for a fight. Need a break from all that work fishing? Walk on over to one of the two portage lakes, sit back, cast out and enjoy the fight.
Trapline Lake - A unique flowage lake. The rugged structure allows for continuous Walleye action. Northerns are plentiful. One of our most popular lakes for "Trophy Walleye Fisherman". Portage 100 yards into our Trout Lake, one mile west of the cabin. Walleye, and Northern Pike are plentiful in Trapline. Looking for variety? Portage into Trout Lake to also catch "BIG" Smallmouth and lots and lots of Lake Trout. Does it get any better than that?
Chase Lake - Another of our "BIG 3". An exteremly healthy flowage lake enticing the greatest number of fisherman each year. Walleye fishing is excellent any time. Northern Pike can be caught everywhere. Portage into our Trout Lake for more Northerns, "Lakers" and some scenic Ontario wilderness beauty. So you want to catch a lot of fish. Well, Chase Lake is the place to be. This is a "no brainer" as far as walleyes is concerned. Catches of 100 per day are common. Chase Lake is full to the brim with Walleyes and Northern Pike. Portage into Trout Lake for even more variety.
Nance Lake Lodge - Addition and remodelling completed in1991. This luxurious cabin overlooks the west. Fish for Walleye and Northern, and enjoy the serene peace and tranquility this three mile flowage lake has to offer. Portage into "Little Nance Lake" for more exciting action from the same two fish species. Nance Lake contains an assortment of species. The most plentiful though, are Walleye, and Northern Pike. Hopefully when you see them they will be dangling from your line.
Separation Rapids Outpost - Situated on Separation Lake, part of the famous English River system. This camp is a remarkable drive-in outpost, 72 km. north of Kenora, Ontario. Fish for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Muskie. Being located on the English River says it all! Separation Rapids offers a bigger variety of fish than any of our other camps. Quickly you will be catching Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Musky. And big ones, since this is a huge river system. Not to mention you will see an assortment of other animals. Just keep one eye on your rod and the other on the shoreline.
