This is an excellent place for reclusive old bucks to get away from the hunting pressure. In addition to that we have planted our own land to high protein lure crops. In October we watch the scrapes, scrape lines, rubs and game trails.

Plummers Lodges

Al knows that Saskatchewan continues to produce some of the largest whitetail deer and black bears in Canada. Elmer is an active member of the Saskatchewan Outfitters Association. He is a dedicated conservationist, a student of modern wildlife big game management and a teacher with lifelong "in the field" experience.

The family you meet and book your hunt with is the same family who will be in camp, oversee taking you to your stand, answer your questions, bring out your trophy and prepare it for the taxidermist.

Big game trophy hunting is "Al's" only business which means dedication to you and the outfitting business.

Deer Hunting - You will be hunting in an area that is fringe land….. Where forest and fields meet. The forest is primitive with old log over, hollows and knobs, ridges and swamps. You will be guided two on one and we'll hunt in a way which provides you the greatest success. We utilize ground blinds, still hunting the forest fringe or tree stands that are set up to the side of game trails. Feeding stations using the prevailing wind advantage that allow the deer to come to you. We hunt the pre-rut, rut and post-rut (a four week span) as this has proven to be when the big bucks are moving and the most venerable.

Black Bear Hunting - You will be hunting in the wilderness area with some old log out dating to the 60's. This is where black bears grow to prime maturity with Boone & Crockett skulls ranging from 17 to 22 inches as the norm. Feeding stations are set out beginning around April 15th and once the bears begin feeding the stations are replenished with 5 gallons of bear gourmet food every other day. You will be hunting from a tree stand, approximately 12 - 15 feet in the air with the feeding station around 50 - 60 yards away for rifle hunters and 12 - 20 years away for bow hunters. The station will have had large bear activity for at least 2 weeks before you arrive. Transportation to your tree stand will be by ATV. Stations are about 5 miles apart to prevent overlap of the bears. You will be in your stand from about 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm as this has proven to be the best times.
