Red Cedar Lake Camp is located on picturesque Red Cedar Lake, in the famous Marten River area. Well known for its abundance of wild life and vast expanse of sparkling lakes, rivers and streams nestled among the seemingly endless amount of forest landscape.
Red Cedar Lake Camp and cottages are situated around the very quiet and peaceful Loon Bay. From there we have total access to the lake which is 18 miles in length, with a perimeter of 82.6 miles and a surface area of 5984 acres.
There are two major river systems flowing into the lake. The Temagami River, from Lake Temagami, and the Marten River (which is another chain of lakes and rivers). This provides us with an excellent flow of water to sustain our fishery, which is second to none.
Fishing off the central docks produces some excellent catches of Perch and Pike. On Tuesday and Thursday nights we have movie night for the kids (parents pick out the movie) we will supply the popcorn.
The Red Cedar Lake Camp bait house provides fishing tackle, ice, gas & oil, weigh scales, fish cleaning station and fish freezing available. We have minnows, night crawlers and leeches (when in season). In July and August we run fishing derbies for all our guests with nice prizes to be won. It's fun for all ages!
You can always get out to fish Red Cedar Lake since the water is sheltered and never gets too rough. The lake has a deep hole of 100 feet, and there are many other drop offs to explore, as well as lots of shoals and a very irregular bottom. This is home to numerous species of fish, especially Walleye (Pickerel), Northern Pike, and Small Mouth Bass. These waters also contain White Fish, Herring, Ling Cod and Perch.
If fishing is not your cup of tea, then there are lots of other things to do. Make sure you bring your camera, for the breath taking sunsets, scenery and wildlife. Moments that you would like to capture on film for a keepsake.
Red Cedar Lake Camp is surrounded by thousands of acres of crown land that offers you unlimited opportunities to explore nature. There are trails available for hiking or mountain bikes. If ATV's are your thing, bring them up. It's an excellent place to go for a long ride. We can offer very scenic canoe routes while exploring Red Cedar Lake.
Red Cedar Lake Camp housekeeping cottages consist of one, two or three bedrooms. We can accommodate up to a party of 10 people in the largest unit, or just one person in our one bedroom.
All cottages have electricity, hot and cold running water with modern, indoor, three and/or four piece bathrooms. All your blankets, pillows and all bed linen are supplied.
The cottages come with fully equipped kitchens with propane stoves, full size electric fridges, coffee makers, toasters, propane barbecues, all dishes, pots & pans and cutlery. All you need to bring is your tea towels and personal towels.
Red Cedar Lake Camp also offers complete American Plan packages which includes: accommodations, dinner on arrival, breakfast on departure, boat and motor, gas (one tank daily), bait, landing net, minnow pail, life jackets, safety equipment, maps, fish cleaning and fish freezing facilities available for your use.
The American Plan includes all meals, breakfast and dinner up at the lodge in the dining room and a box lunch. If you want to make your own shore lunch, let us know and we will pack you the appropriate supplies instead of a box lunch.
