We have six 2 bedroom and two 3 bedroom cottages as well as "The Farm House"located on our property which is suitable for six persons and is open all year.
Over the past 27 years we have constantly been upgrading our facilities to meet the needs of our guests. Each cottage has a 4 piece bath, a well stocked kitchen, along with the fridge and stove there is a microwave, coffee maker and gas barbecue. The cottages are well spaced along the shore of the Pickerel River. Each cottage has an electric heater along with a wood burning fireplace/stove (we supply the wood at no charge). To enjoy a favorite book or an afternoon break each cottage has a deck or screened porch.
For families that are visiting Pine Grove, we have cribs and highchairs as well as babysitting available for you.
Our waters await your baited hook. Fish species found in Loring area are Walleye, Bass (small & large mouth), Northern Pike, Crappie and Pan Fish.
Over 12 years ago the cottagers and tourist operators started the first pond reared walleye hatchery in the province of Ontario. Since that time the group has released hundreds of thousands of walleye fingerlings as well as making major improvements to area spawning beds. This has been the success of an ongoing fishery in these area waters.
The Pickerel River is controlled by water level dams, which maintain the water levels throughout the fishing season. These dams were put into place back in the days when the Loring area was known for its timber. These dams created our present waterway, joining smaller lakes into one body of water. You can imagine the variety of fishing spots made from this increase in water levels.
Structure and cover in the small inlets and bays, depths that vary from 14' to 100' allow the many species to find good cover and food. The back lakes are great for bass and pike with portages with a 30 to 60 minute hike.
