Peffley's Canadian Wilderness Camp is located 12 miles out (a short 20 minute ride in our SAFE and comfortable 21' fully enclosed passenger boat) on Wabaskang Lake, and has eight modern housekeeping cabins. We are the only TRUE (not road accessible) wilderness camp on the lake. As a boat-in camp, we offer our guests the best of both worlds by providing your group a remote fishing destination (only accessible by boat or plane) where you will experience outstanding fishing for Walleye, Northern pike, Smallmouth bass, Jumbo perch, Lake Trout and Whitefish without the costs and restrictions associated with a fly-in trip AND enjoy it in a true wilderness environment without the sounds of highway traffic and other distractions as you try to relax and unwind in camp.

Peffley's Camp is a perfect fishing AND family vacation retreat for couples and families who want to reconnect with nature and their families. Fully modern, clean and comfortable cabins combined with excellent fishing so close to camp makes our camp a perfect choice for families and kids. For the diehard fisherman-you can run a family member back to camp and then return to the hot fishing in less than 30 minutes (round trip). If a storm approaches, chances are you are no more than 10-15 minutes away from the safety of your cabin. Get a real windy day ( or anyone who has fished NW Ontario before- a week of them) and you don't have to sit in your cabin "wishin you were fishin", the narrows right out in front of camp (about a 5 minute boat ride) are almost always "fishable" regardless of the wind and produce many, many limits for our guests every year.

Wabaskang Lake is well known for its excellent fishing for Walleye, Northern pike, Smallmouth bass, Jumbo perch, Lake trout and Whitefish. Our guests enjoy fishing for all these species from within a 10 minute boat ride from camp. An easy portage over Hobson Falls will provide guests the opportunity to fish waters that also have a very good populations of Lake Trout, in addition to excellent fishing for walleye, northern, smallmouth and perch. By boat or foot portages, you can fish as many as six other lakes from camp at no additional cost.

The camp is clean, the accommodations incredibly comfortable and modern, the view from your cabin breathtaking--BUT this isn't the MAIN reason guests return year after year to Peffley's Camp. The fishing is! Combine the quality of fishing Wabaskang offers with the fact that from our camp almost all of our fishing is done within 10 minutes of camp-you have a great combination that is hard to beat!

Fishing Wabaskang Lake and its adjoining waterways is productive all season long. Walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and jumbo perch are all in abundance, with lake trout and whitefish also present in the lake. If you are looking for a lake that can provide ALOT of fishing action, with legitimate chances at trophy fish of the above species, Wabaskang deserves a close look.

Wabaskang is a lake that is sure to please almost any angler in terms of both number and size of fish caught and most importantly it is NOT a hard lake to fish. Many of our camp veterans of twenty and thirty years have commented that it is even better today than ten years ago. Wabaskang Lake is part of the Cedar River watershed and is somewhat unique in that it offers a wide variety of fish species including walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout, jumbo perch and whitefish.
