Wildlife abounds on Lake of the Woods and in the Kenora area. During your travels it is not uncommon to see moose or deer while boating around these waters, Owls, Eagles, Ospreys, Beaver also are often seen, and other flora and fauna.
We will escort you and your party around the maze of islands that exist on Lake of the Woods for superb walleye fishing, smallmouth bass fishing, trophy muskie fishing and giant lake trout fishing. In my 22+ years of guiding, I have successfully guided all fresh water species of fish, and big game species offered in in northwestern Ontario, both in archery and rifle. We will also treat you and your party at Lunch time to one of the finest shorelunch dinners that you will find in North Western Ontario. Fresh Walleye fillets, golden brown fries, baked tinned beans, bread etc. After seeing all the sights and sounds of Kenora spend a day with us on Lake of the Woods, in the fresh air, sigthting seeing, catching a few fish, and see Kenora North Western Ontario at it’s best and that is from the Water..
No doubt walleye is the most sought after species on Lake of the Woods, but small mouth bass is certainly running a good second and in many circles it is why many return to Lake of the Woods year after year.
Trophy muskie fishing on Lake of the Woods.Also many come in the month of June when Muskie season opens in search of that trophy Muskie which many believe IS IN Lake of the Woods as catches of 50-55 inch fish are caught and release every season. Therefore a larger one, (The World Record?) just might be on this body of water.
However probably the main reason is certainly our excellent fishing, but also the vast waters one has to fish, the seclusion, and our spectacular scenery we have to offer our visitors.
With the cancellation of the spring bear hunt in Ontario, there has been an increase in the bear population in North Western Ontario, giving hunters more opportunity to hunt their bear. Its not uncommon to take your bear and still have several bears visit your stand, this gives opportunity to snap a few pictures or record the action on video, all while waiting for the guide. This is all possible because we start pre-bating 4 weeks prior to the start of the season. Giving our hunters a greater experience and an increased success rate while on stand.
