Canada Musky Fishing & Hunting Lodges, North Country Lodge is a family run resort located on crystal-clear Canyon Lake. We are located 18 miles Northwest of Vermilion Bay, a small friendly town of a few hundred people in beautiful Northwestern Ontario, Canada. To our many friends, we welcome you back. Canyon Lake is one of the best kept secrets by musky fishermen. Every year our guests catch many 20 to 30 pound Musky - we have even had some caught over 50 pounds! Fishermen come from all over North America to enjoy the fantastic Musky fishing from opening in June to October. Fishermen love to watch the Musky come to the surface of crystal-clear Canyon Lake as they hit the baits.
But don't neglect our other species! North Country Lodge is one of the best smallmouth bass lakes in the area. Nearby lakes offer you amazing Walleye & Northern Pike fishing. Enjoy it all right here!

If you would like the best of two worlds, join North Country Lodge for some excellent fall fishing and hunting. WALLEYE and NORTHERN move in during late August and September; it can produce some of the best fishing of the year!
Cool weather brings the big ones in as they start a feeding spree for winter. MUSKIE fishing at this time is also excellent in deep water.
You can combine an excellent grouse hunt with your fishing, beginning September 15th.
Bear hunting is done over baited stands which have been set and baited two weeks prior to your arrival. Northwestern Ontario is well known for its moose hunting. The majority of our hunt is done in isolated areas of old logging roads.
The widest point is three miles long, the narrowest is 100 yards. From this description you can see where its name comes from. CANYON LAKE offers WALLEYE, MUSKIE, SMALLMOUTH BASS, WHITEFISH and PERCH. The average WALLEYE caught is
1 1/2-2 lbs. with 10 lbs. and over being caught each year.
Canyon Lake is very popular for the incredible musky fishing. Earlier in the year, from opening in June to August, the Musky are in a shallow pattern. During this time, the most successful fisherman use spinnerbaits, bucktails and topwater lures. Most of the bigger fish are caught in September and October when the Musky head to deeper water. Fishing is then concentrated more on trolling, casting the rocks, and using more live bait.

CANYON LAKE is one of the best SMALLMOUTH BASS lakes in the area with 1-3 lbs. average and records 6 lbs. caught. CANYON LAKE varies in depth from a few feet to 80-90 feet at its deepest point. For added fun we have access to four other lakes in the area where you will enjoy NORTHERN fishing along with WALLEYE and BASS. Maybe you would like a fly-out adventure for a day. We can arrange for you to be picked up at the dock in the morning and return for supper time. A great opportunity to see a fantastic view of the area and fish for your favourite species of fish.
