McIntosh Lodge is a family operation built with you in mind. We are here for you whether this is your first experience up North or you are a veteran of the area. 2008 marks our 15th year of service to you.

We provide all services required for a successful and unforgettable adventure in Northwestern Ontario. You are our primary concern. Expect to find us courteous, informational and doing our best to serve you. You have no choice but to relax and enjoy Canyon Lake - its beauty is second to none.

Canyon Lake lies east to west and is nearly eighteen miles in length. Rocky shore lines, down wood, weed beds, points, islands and reefs provide the cover necessary for Muskie, Walleye and Smallmouth Bass.

Trophy size fish include all species. Muskie 40 pounds and larger, Walleye up to 13 pounds and Smallmouth Bass up to 5 pounds have been caught and luckily for you, most have been released and continue to grow.

Canyon Lake is rated as excellent for Muskie. We go a bit farther in saying it is the BEST. With no Northern Pike to interfere with our spawn, we have a true Muskie lake. Here at McIntosh Lodge, a party of four boated and released 72 Muskie in one week! We are happy to provide references to you upon request.

Canyon Lake offers weed beds, rock points, wooded shoreline, deep basins, current and islands. Pick your spot! You have 18 miles of water and Muskie up to 40 pounds. John is available to help you understand patterns and select the best lures. Come take advantage of this unique fishing opportunity!

Most anglers associate Northwest Ontario with walleye. Canyon Lake is no exception. It is true that 1 to 2 pound fish are the average, but every year we have our share of trophy fish caught up to 12 pounds.

Nothing beats a fresh shore lunch or frying up a mess of fish for your evening meal. We do encourage catch and release of our larger females as they provide the majority of our spawn. Maybe that is one of the reasons we have some of the larger Walleye in our area. We are happy to report that our numbers are up and we are experiencing our best Walleye fishing in the past fourteen seasons!

We will do our best to put you on fish. You can count on John to explain patterns and locations to make your fishing trip memorable and successful!

Pound for pound, nothing battles you like a Smallie. They seem to use every muscle available to test your skill. The Smallmouth Bass provides great action for the entire family. You may catch them in a variety of ways using everything from artificial bait to slip bobbers and live bait. Smallmouth show up in good numbers from mid-June on with July being the best month.

Canyon Lake is rated as excellent for Smallies and numbers our are high. Our fish are a bit on the chunky side with a 12 inch Smallie tipping the scales at a little over a pound. If you are looking for action, this is your fish.
