Plummers Lodges

The K Lazy Three Outfitters has been operating wilderness adventure vactions, horseback riding vactions and big game hunting into the Scapegoat Wilderness area longer than the protective national wilderness status granted it, 33 years to be exact. 2002 marks the fifteenth year that I have been a licensed Montana guide, combining over 23 years of hunting & packing experience with a lifetime of ranching stewardship. We will show you a quality western wilderness adventure vacation, be it a Rocky Mountain horsback ride, Montana fly fishing or a big game hunting; Montana elk hunting, Montana mule deer hunting or Montana mountain goat hunting.

Our wilderness adventure travel includes summer camping, horseback riding and fly fishing trips into the Scapegoat and Bob Marshall Wilderness areas. We provide scheduled wilderness travel trips where you can see the Chinese Wall, travel the Continental Divide high country or explore Scapegoat mountain. We will also arrange a tailored adventure for your party. Besides the horseback riding, these trips include plenty of opportunity for remote Montana fly fishing, photographing the numerous Montana game and fish spieces and just plain enjoying the wilderness travel.

When the season changes to fall and the elk begin to bugle, we turn our full attention to Montana hunting; Montana elk hunting and mule deer hunting. We operate our two early season (Sept. - early Nov.) back country camps in the Scapegoat Wilderness area where the trail head is 60 miles northwest of Helena, Montana. Our primary hunting focus is elk hunting and mule deer hunting, however, we are also available for those lucky few that draw a moose or mountain goat permit in this area.

When the snow has fallen in the high country of the Beartooth mountains (mid Nov.), we scout the movements of the mountain goats and if one of our hunters has been lucky enough to draw a tag for region 323 or region 329, we pack up our gear and our traveling camp and head south of Big Timber for the Boulder River drainage in pursuit of that trophy Billy.

As the hunting season winds down, it is time for that mule deer hunting trip.We switch location to the Deer Creek mountains and change our focus to the late season (end of Nov.) mossy horned trophy mule deer hunting. The Deer Creek camp is in the heart of the Deer Creek mountains just south of Big Timber.

We use this new internet technology as a way for you to get acquainted with us, but rest assured that we still use the tried and true time honored methods of wilderness travel; mule, Rocky Mountain horse ride and tent camps. Be assured that outfitting is not a sideline for us, it's a full time business. We are members of the Montana Outfitters and Guide Association and the Professional Wilderness Outfitters Association. We are permitted by the Lincoln Ranger District for priority use on the Helena National Forest.

Our Mission is to provide you with a Rocky Mountain wilderness experience that will renew the spirit, refresh the mind and invigorate the senses!
