Well it has happened again! I don't think I will ever tire of saying this but, this past year was our best one yet!! We had the opportunity to host many, many fishing trips this past season at both lodges as well as our outposts. We enjoyed seeing many of you who have been with us before and meeting those of you who were with us for the first time. Juanita and I think year after year "How can we make this better? Where can we improve?" We ask that every guest give us a grade on their trip. This gives us a really good idea where to invest our resources. Every year you will see something different somewhere. This year we will be changing our fleet of boats and motors at Kississing Lodge. We have already added shower facilities at the Waskwei Outpost camp. Deerhorn Lodge is a new lodge we added to our range of packages this past year. Deerhorn is getting a major face-lift as I am writing this newsletter. We have increased the size of the bedrooms and added en suite bathrooms for each bedroom in the main lodge. The guest cabins at Deerhorn have received new siding, carpets and furniture. Deerhorn Lodge is located in Saskatchewan, approximately forty miles west of Kississing Lodge. It is a great complement to Kississing Lodge and Outposts as it offers an unguided American Plan package on a total of eleven walk-in or boat- in lakes. Whether you are looking for American Plan with excellent northern fishing or a do-it-yourself trip with great trout or walleye, the opportunities are endless. We are expanding the range of packages but, are keeping each camp small to maintain that personal feel guests enjoy so much.
We have great staff and everyone is working hard. This winter we have several projects on the go. We are in the works to bring a Cessna 185 and a Bellanca Scout on line. This will give us added capacity and increase the ease of transportation to our guest. We have two new maintenance personnel, Adam Shemrock and Dave Heyboer who are also pilots. They have done an excellent job this year and will be very busy over the upcoming winter months. I would like to introduce Maureen Fadden. Maureen will be working with Claudia Horsch in the office in taking care of your reservations and travel arrangements. Both Claudia and Maureen will be a great help to you so please do not hesitate to call them with any questions.
Located just a 25 minute floatplane ride from Flin Flon, Manitoba north of the 55th parallel, Kississing Lake offers some of the finest trophy Northern, Walleye, and Lake Trout fishing anywhere in the world complemented by five star accommodations.
The quality of our fishing will make any fisherman excited. To keep it that way we require that all Northern and Lake Trout above 8 lbs. and Walleye above 3 1/2 lbs. be released; the rest of your limit as per lodge regulations.
Provincial regulations require barbless fishing on Kississing Lake. Quick release is practiced so that we may have healthy fish returned to the water. In doing so, we know that our lakes will remain some of Manitoba's finest fishing lakes for years to come.
Our lodge is constructed from pine logs and has a licensed dining room with a 36 person capacity. Coffee will be brought to your cabin each morning and after a hearty breakfast you will be on your way.
We have a well stocked tackle store where our experienced local guides will help you make the right selection. Sweatshirts, T-shirts and hats are also available as a long lasting reminder of your time with us here at Kississing Lodge.
Full mount animals from the surrounding area create a wilderness atmosphere. If you decide not to go fishing in the evening you may enjoy a friendly game of pool or shuffle board in our game room. Or you may simply enjoy a time of relaxation sitting in front of our towering 26' fireplace while chatting it up with some new found friends about your adventures on the lake.
Twenty-five miles by twenty miles of crystalline water, over 2000 miles of shoreline, and numerous islands, inlets and bays. Crystal clear water dropping over 100 feet and hundred of shallow bays abundant with weeds and forage. Kississing Lake... a world of Angling Opportunity.
