Plummers Lodges

Surrounded by mountain ranges, the Babine Range to the east and the Hazelton Range to the west, the Kispiox River Valley is a magnificent hunting and fishing destination.

Wildlife enthusiast and hunters alike enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the opportunity to view animals in the natural settings. Our forests and woodland ares are filled with big game animals including, Canadian Moose, Black Bears as well as Grizzly Bears, Mountain Goats, Caribou and Timber Wolves, not to mention the small species and the abundant variety of birds.

The valley of Kispiox contains several rivers widely know for their steelhead and salmon runs. In fact the Kispiox River itself is designated as a trophy river by British Columbia for it's world class native steelhead. It also offers excellent runs of coho salmon, rainbow, cutthroat and dolly varden trout. When you have meet your match trophy fishing, you also find great fishing in the Babine, Bear, Buckley and Skeena Rivers.

MOUNTAIN GOAT HUNTING:

Canada is home to the largest popluation of mountain goats with 90% of the country's entire population residing in mountainous areas of British Columbia.

Mountain Goat hunting is an extremely vigorous hunt and hunters need to be in excellent physcial condition in order to traverse the rugged cliff faces where mountain goats reside.

Our Mountain Goat hunting season runs from the first of August to the middle of October. This hunt season runs parrallel with our Moose, Caribou and black bear hunting seasons affording hunters great opportunities for combinations with their mountain goat hunts.

RIVER VALEY FISHING:

The Kispiox Valley is home to several rivers and lakes known for there world class fishing. The Babine River home to the imfamous Babine Lake salmon run, the Skeen river is also important to the salmon run. The Kispiox River itself is world renown for it's steelhead run as well as it's salmon, cutthroat trout and dolly varden. Buckley river affords anglers opportunites for, steelhead, salmon and trout

We also have various nearby lakes, both large and small. Ross Lake is good for Lake Char and Rainbow Trout Fulton Lake is excellent for Rainbow trout, Cutthroat, Kokanee and Lake Char. Nilkitkwa Lake is close to the Babine Lake Fisheries and a large salmon spawning area.

Whether you drift fish or fly fish we have rivers, streams and lakes that will most certainly satisfy your fishing pains.

MOOSE HUNTING:

Our moose hunting is as flexible as you will find anywhere.We have several tags in the lower valley for hunters looking for hunts by vehicle for meat moose. We also have fly in camps for the serious trophy hunters wanting to bag a nice" Canadian Moose". These moose get as big as 60" and average around 50". All of our fly in hunting camps have log or frame cabins making your stay quite enjoyably comfortable.

Our Canadian Moose hunts are available as either fly-in camps or lodge hunts. Our Fly-in hunting camp seasons generally run from the middle of August through the 1st week of October. This moose hunting season is an excellent oppportunity for combination hunts for goat, caribou, black bear and timber wolf.

Our Lodge hunts which typically run from the middle of August to the middle of November are excellent as combination hunt for black bear and/or timber wolf.

BLACK BEAR HUNTING:

Kispiox Valley is home to a very large population of black bear. Our black bear hunting areas contain many miles of logging roads and clear cuts in the spring. Our hunters have an excellent chance of success and are likely to see many black bears during the course of their hunts. Many a trophy black bear has be taken from this area.

In the fall our hunting areas are the mountain meadows and river flats. If you are hunting the area for canadian moose or mountain goat there are good opportunities for a trophy black bear as well.

Our spring Black Bear hunting season runs from the first of May through the end of May for both our Lodge Black Bear hunts and our Fly-in camp hunts. During this season an avid hunter could also add a 2nd black bear and include a timber wolf to their hunt easily.

Our fall Black bear hunt season runs parrallel to our Canadian Moose and Caribou season, running from the middle of August to the middle of November for our Lodge hunts and from the middle of August to the first week of October for our Fly-in camp Hunts making a Black Bear Combination hunts for very inticing.

GRIZZLY BEAR HUNTING:

Due to our may slmon streams and lakes as well as numerous moutain ranges we have an abundance of grizzly bear in our 4000 square miles of territory. These bears are easily hunted either in spring or fall because of the diversity of terrain in this territory.

Our spring Grizzly Bear hunting season runs from the first of May through the end of May for our Lodge hunts The Spring Grizzly season parallels our Black Bear season which provides excellent opportunity for a combination Grizzly/Black Bear hunts.

Our spring Fly-in camp seasons for Grizzly runs a couple weeks longer than the lodge season, from the first of May through the middle of June. Again, excellent opportunities for combination black bear and/or timber wolf hunts.

Our fall Grizzle bear hunting season runs parrallel to our Canadian Moose and Mountain Goat season which run from the middle of August to the middle of November for our Lodge hunts and from the middle of August to the first week of October for our Fly-in Hunting making combination hunts very inticing for moose, mountain goat, black bear, caribou and/or timber wolf.
