Northern Saskatchewan is Canada's best-kept secret. With 10,000 lakes, Saskatchewan is one of the last true wilderness areas in North America. Saskatchewan is a fisherman's bonanza.
Katche Kamp is located approximately 3.5 hours by automobile from Saskatoon which is served by Northwestern Airlines. This is especially attractive to those who realize that good fishing is not always the most difficult to reach or the most expensive to enjoy.
Guests are housed in six private cabins overlooking the lake. A small store and tackle shop provide any extras and personal service is the best anywhere. Down the years, our repeat customers have talked about "Coming home to Katche Kamp". Once you've experienced this relaxed, beautiful setting, you may well join the group coming home again.
Facilities at Katche Kamp include a well-stocked store, cabins, showers, freezers, boats and motors, private docks and filleting house. "Kamp" boats and motors are new or nearly-new and all well-maintained.
Up-to-date maps of lakes in the surrounding area are also available.
Our lakeside cabins overlook a sheltered harbor connecting two beautiful lakes nearly 20 miles in length. Cabins are all-electric, including heat, fridge, stove, running water, and are designed to house four adults.
Anglers have a choice of pursuing five exciting species of native fish: Northern Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout, Whitefish and Yellow Perch.
For the dedicated trout fisherman or fly fishing purists, in addition to our native Lake Trout, nearby lakes are stocked with six other species of trout including: Rainbow, Brook, Splake, Tiger and Cut Throat. Grayling and Kokanee Salmon have also been stocked in smaller numbers in some of these smaller lakes.
Although not as numerous as our native fish, with these stockings, you could pursue a grand slam of 13 different species of fish in one of several local lakes.
Our most numerous fish is the Northern Pike. This beautiful fish is viciously aggressive and offers heart-stopping strikes and powerful runs. Fish from 18-22 pounds are not uncommon during certain times of the season. We strongly encourage catch and release and assist anglers in attaining beautiful replicas of trophy fish if desired.
