Magnificent bald eagles and white pelicans are often spotted, as are bear, moose, deer, beaver, otter, geese and ducks. And the fishing is fantastic! Walleye, northern, bass and muskie are abundant with Houseboat Adventures.

Despite its wonderful complexity, the lake is well charted, making navigation easy. So, for a vacation to suit the family, the sportsman, or the person wanting to relax and site see, try a Houseboat Adventure on beautiful Lake of the Woods.

Shoal Lake is one of the best Smallmouth Bass and Northern fisheries in Northwestern Ontario and is accessible by a narrow channel from Lake of the Woods. With its crystal clear water and unsurpassed fishing, Shoal Lake is truly a sportsmen's paradise.

In keeping with Houseboat Adventures commitment to keep our Lake as clean as possible we have installedgrey water holding tanks and 300 gallon fresh water tanks on the 44' and 58' houseboats. Our 49sp models already have this feature. This means no "grey" water from showers, kitchen sink, etc. will go into our beautiful lake. It is pumped out at our dock into the City sewer system for proper treatment. Of course our new 68' houseboat (new for 2003) will include this feature.

Houseboat Adventures supplys Fully modern, clean and well equipped houseboats. The kitchens are equipped with pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, dish towels & cloths and microwaves. They have ovens, stoves and refrigerators with separate freezers - two refrigerators and freezers on 68 ft, 58 ft, 49sp & 49 ft. Sheets, blankets, and pillows are supplied for the beds. Houseboat Adventures suggests bringing a sleeping bag for the spring and fall rentals. The bathrooms have a sink, toilet, and a shower for which we supply face cloths and bath towels. There are two bathrooms on the 58 ft and 68 ft models. The houseboats are equipped with a TV, VCR, deck chairs, life jackets, navigation maps, large ice coolers, 3000w generator and separate high capacity battery chargers (which will charge houseboat batteries when on shore). The 49 ft, 49sp, 58 ft and 68 ft have two battery chargers which can also charge trolling motor batteries. A 14' fishing boat is included with all rentals (motor extra). All houseboats are equipped with VHF radios and cell phones. Lake of the Woods is an intriguing maze of islands, channels, and coves. Discover your own secluded beach to swim and relax, away from everything but the plop of a fishing line and a the call of the loon, or leisurely explore the rocky cliffs for ancient Indian rock paintings, and the secluded Islands for abandoned gold mines.
