Dan & Anne invite you to the gateway of adventure! Fishing the English River for fat feisty walleyes or large aggressive northern pike will make for a memorable fishing trip. Running into a school of quality size smallmouth bass will add to the excitement! Other fishing options could include a day on one of the nearby lakes offering the opportunity to catch lunker lake trout or trophy brook trout. Take a portage across Talking Falls for a remote secluded day of fabulous walleye fishing at Sowden Lake Falls or on the scenic Gulliver River.
Cozy Camp is only 3.5 hours from the U.S. border. Our guests enjoy paved roads right to our camp, only 20 miles north of Ignace on hwy. 599. Being the only resort on 32 mile of waterways preserves the pristine beauty of this spectacular wilderness setting. Our fully outfitted newer 16' Lund boats with 15 h.p. motors provide you with the comfort & reliability for a full day of fabulous fishing. To insure that, we offer you a complimentary tour of the river & a map marking the "hot spots" to fish. Clean modern fish cleaning facilities with electricity & water as well as freezer space are provided for your use. For your convenience we sell fishing & hunting licenses, live bait & tackle, gas & ice. For customers who choose to bring their own boats, a concrete boat ramp is available. Our modern waterfront housekeeping cabins provide everything that you need including bed linens. The serviced R.V. campsites are also situated with an awesome view of the gently flowing English River.
Our area in Northwestern Ontario offers exceptional opportunities for hunting black bear, moose, waterfowl & grouse. Whether you rent one of our cozy cabins or an R.V. site, our customers satisfaction is our first priority! This truly is "North of the Tension Zone!"
Fishing Trip: The English River system offers an abundance of walleye, northern pike & smallmouth bass for an exciting fishing trip. Secluded islands, private sand beaches make awesome spots for shore lunch, overnight camping or a relaxing day in the sun.
Camping: For camping we have spacious R.V. & campsites with views of the English River. There is also a dump station on the grounds and a central shower house for camper use. Modern fish cleang facilities & a concrete boat ramp is available.
Hunting Trips: Our area in Northwestern Ontario has large population of black bear, moose, waterfowl & grouse to insure a successful hunting trip.
Canoeing & Kayaking / Canoeing: Imagine canoeing down the English River, camping on secluded islands, viewing an array of wildlife along the shore and just absorbing the scenic beauty and solitude of the Canadian northwoods at a leisurely pace. A nature photographers dream!
Walleye: The English River is famous for it's abundance of golden walleye. From trophies to tasty shore lunch walleye fishing is spectacular!!
Trout / Lake Trout: Other fishing options could include a day on one of the many nearby lakes where the fish are also abundant. Lunker lake trout are found in Cecil Lake, only a 5 minute drive away.
Northern Pike: Northern pike are abundant in the English River and on nearby portage lakes. Several 48" trophies are caught & released each year!
Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Running into a school of quality size smallmouth bass can keep both young & old anglers busy for hours.
Trout / Brook Trout: Several 5lb. + brook trout have been caught in the nearby stocked stream fed lakes.
Black Bear: We pride ourselves with having an extremely high success rate for fall black bear hunts. Opportunities to take color phases with bow or rifle are excellent! This is a very affordable big game hunt!!
Moose: Moose hunts for Ontario residents - We have a large moose population in our area and your chances of success are very high. (W.M.U. 15A.)
Birds / Grouse: The Ruffed Grouse are abundant and the ducks plentiful. Hunting the bush roads by atv's you will see many grouse every day. Being located on a major flyway flocks of ducks gather feeding on wild rice beds, for some terrific wing shooting.
Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: We have everything you need for your fishing trip including newer 16' Lund boats with 15 h.p. Johnson motors. Our fishing boats are fully outfitted with swivel seats, life jackets, etc. for your comfort & convenience.
Campgrounds / RV Parks: The Cozy Camp RV park and campgrounds is also situated with views of the river. The RV sites are pull through and come with electric and water hook-ups. Each has plenty of space to spread out so you don't feel cramped with other campers.
Housekeeping Cabins: The modern waterfront housekeeping cabins sleep up to 8 people. Fully equipped kitchens, 3 pc. bathrooms & all bedding is provided. Perfect for a family vacation, corporate excursions or vacationing with friends.
Access - Drive In: Cozy Camp is only a 3.5 hour drive from the U.S. border. Our guests enjoy paved roads right to our doorstep! Just 20 miles north of hwy. 17 near Ignace sitting on hwy. 599, Cozy Camp is easily accessible.
