Rainy Lake lies on the Ontario Minnesota border east of Fort Frances Ontario and International Falls Minnesota. Rainy lake is considered by many to offer the finest Small Mouth Bass fishing in Minnesota or Ontario. Add to that Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappie and Muskie combined with the fine accommodations, equipment, service and central location of Coppen's Resort and you have everything you need to "FISH RAINY".
Our resort is a small 9 unit facility with a maximum capacity of 40 guests, all units face the lake. We are situated just off the Bears Pass channel between Red Gut, Swell and Seine Bays, in the heart of Rainy Lake.
We have lots of outdoor and indoor recreation activities. Have a fresh swim in the clean clear water, water ski or go for a boat ride. The canoe is available for your enjoyment. You might want to relax in the hot tub or just sit in the beach house or on the beach and enjoy the sun. Play a game of volleyball, horseshoes or badminton.
You'll find plenty more activities less than an hour away. An 18 hole golf course, tennis and squash courts are all nearby. You might enjoy a tour of the paper mill or museum in Fort Frances or you may want to try your luck at the local bingo hall.
Ours is a four generation family run resort. Syd Coppen, whom we are named after, has built the resort from ground up. Daughter Kelly and husband Ed have been actively working at the resort for the past 15 years. Children Patrick and Paula, Grandchildren Erik, and Sarah, have been raised in the resort business and look forward to many years to come. Our main objective when you are at our resort is to make your stay so enjoyable that you will want to return again and again.
We are located 25 miles from the town of Fort Frances, Ontario, which is just across the border from International Falls, Minnesota. Our resort is just left off Highway 11 East at Armstrong Road. For those who wish to fly, North West Airlines will bring you from most major cities into International Falls, where we will pick you up and bring you to the resort. To give you a general idea of distance to travel, we are located approximately 900 miles from St. Louis, 600 miles from Chicago, 300 miles from Minneapolis and 1000 miles from Toronto.
All packages plans include accommodations with satellite colour T.V., electric heat, lights, large fridge and stove, single beds with box springs and mattresses, all bedding, towels, flush toilets, showers, hot and cold running water, all dishes, posts and pans and large propane barbecues, as well as use of sand beach, beach house and hot tub. Our units are very clean and comfortable. Bedrooms and living rooms have wall to wall carpet, all have large screened-in balconies overlooking beautiful Rainy Lake.
