Plummers Lodges

With 5 different lakes to choose from, you can experience excellent fishing and hunting at Cobblestone Lodge on Raleigh Lake in Northwestern Ontario Canada.

Cobblestone Lodge has a rich history dating back to the 1920's, in fact some guests are related to the founder of the lodge. Many have been coming to Cobblestone since they were children and now bring their children and even grandchildren. What makes Cobblestone so special is that it is a total Canadian experience.

Cobblestone Lodge specialize in boat caches on nearby lakes with good fishing. You'll be able to catch Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch and Lake Trout on these 5 great Canadian lakes. Experience fishing on Raleigh Lake, Sally Lake, Indian Lake, Kukukus Lake, and Arethusa Lake for yourself!

Cobblestone lodge overlooks a large sandy beach. Guests are welcome any time to come up for a coffee and relax, sip a cold drink in our screened-in porch or just sit and talk, or enjoy a walk to Raleigh Falls. The Cobblestone Lodge is located right on Raleigh Lake, and boat caches all on nearby drive to lakes gives you access to five other great lakes with fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, lake trout, and perch.

Fish for Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch and Lake Trout on 5 different lakes with Cobblestone Fishing Lodge! Variety is what makes us different from other camps and being able to test your fishing skills on a number of different lakes and conditions. Due to the amount of lakes in our area, the fishing pressure on any particular lake has been reduced not to mention the amount of people, in order to give you the uncrowded relaxing trip you expect in the wilderness of Canada. Due to the size and quality of the lakes many of our guests fish right up to dark when those big ones seem to feed. We are unlike huge bodies of water where you may spend an hour or more to get to those hot spots by boat. We recommend you fish at least three of the lakes and return to your favorite one.

If it's hunting that you're after, you will find that we have some of the best Black Bear and Grouse Hunts in Northern Ontario with the Cobblestone Hunting Lodge Team. Our bear management unit consists of 436 sq. kilometers with miles of access roads, some of which have been recently opened to areas that were not accessible in the past. Since 1991 we have limited our hunters to 4 or 5 per week. This has insured our hunters great success. The baits are set 3 to 4 weeks before the hunts begin in order to establish consistent hits. Cobblestone Lodge uses a variety of baits, such as beef scraps, bread sweets, grease and a number of different scent attractors. The bait is placed in a bait box that is then covered with logs and a large rock to keep smaller animals out. Each hunter is placed on a bait which has not been hunted or disturbed in order to insure greater success. We supply tree stands and have them in place before you arrive for less disturbance before the hunt, as well as providing you with transportation to and from your bait site. Whether you hunt with bow or rifle, the stands are placed to insure the best possible success. Bow stands will be placed approximately 15 to 20 yards from baits and rifle stands, 60 to 80 yards depending on terrain.

Raleigh Lake - Cobblestone Lodge is located on Raleigh Lake and is well known for its Lake Trout. Our boats are equipped with downriggers and you are instructed on how to use them. Although in early spring and late fall most of our anglers use a minnow and bobber, due to the fact that the trout are in shallow water. The lake is quite different than most Trout lakes because of its many reefs and islands that cover its 8 miles of water. The trout average about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds, but don't let the size fool you, these are the fightiest fish you'll ever see. Most important is their taste.

Sally Lake - About a 20 minute drive from camp, you park and walk down a wooded trail to arrive at Sally Lake. It's our smallest lake but well known for its Walleye and Northern fishing. The lake is approximately 2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide with a mixture of rocky points and weedy bays. Many of our guests have enjoyed the numerous pike in the lake and fish from 12 to 20 pounds have been caught regularly. Due to the size of the Lake, only two Walleye and two Northern Pike limit is allowed.

Indian Lake - Located about 35 minutes from camp you will arrive at Little Indian. You can fish there or boat down a channel which will take you to Indian Lake. The lakes measure about 12 miles long and has Northern Pike, Walleye and Perch. You can spend a whole week fishing this great body of water. Also, if you have your own boat, you can launch it at the public launch ramp.

Kukukus Lake - Located approximately 45 minutes from camp you will arrive at Dome Lake, motor up a river for 1/2 mile to Kukukus Lake. Bring your camera. Many moose have been spotted in the river and on the lake. Kukukus Lake has no public launch and is considered one of the remote lakes. Known for its excellent walleye fishing, not to mention its large Pike. The lake measures approximately 14 miles long but most of our guests have enjoyed great fishing within the first 5 miles. I personally caught a 7 lb. walleye here and many 3 to 4 pounders.

Arethusa Lake - Our furthest lake from camp, it is approximately a 55 minute drive, but don't let the distance bother you, this is one great walleye lake. A lot of our guests have caught limits of fish within sight of where they park. This is a great place to have a shore lunch. Arethusa is a narrow lake that measures about 12 miles long. The upper part runs east and west and the lower north and south, great for those windy days. Also, by going through Arethusa, you can access Flatrock Lake for more excitement.

We have a number of lakes to choose from depending on time of year, weather conditions, and fish habits, you can always find good fishing. Each lake has a limited amount of boats that are allowed by the M.N.R. to be left there in order to control fishing pressure. We have constructed log cribs and each boat is stored with the motor on so that our guests do not have to transport heavy equipment to the lakes.

Each day you are with us you will be provided with gas for your boat and a map of the lake you wish to fish, Cliff will mark some of the hot spots & give you some tips on how the fish are biting. The drive to the lakes is an experience in itself. Our guests have reported sightings of Moose, Bear, Eagles, Martens, Wolves, Lynx, Beavers and much more to add to your memories at Cobblestone Lodge.
