The Baskatong reserve was created in 1927 to stabilize the water level from the Gatineau river. There are hundreds of islands and innumerable beaches which attracts visitors each year. Baskatong is a lake of 30,000 hectares when the water level is at its peak and the perimeter is approximately 1800 km. The depth can reach up to 90 metres. Many come to fish the walleye and has been very good since the beginning of the season.
