Plummers Lodges

Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting is quickly gaining a reputation as one of North America's finest black bear hunts for big trophy bear. Add in our spectacular fishing and you have a 2 for 1 trip of a lifetime.

This virgin territory and the bear populations are excellent with many bears 300-550 lb range. This is also one of the few bear areas in North America where hunters have a chance at large color-phase (chocolates, blonds, cinnamon) bears. The bears have never been hunted and have no knowledge of fear of people and will virtually guard the bait stands. There is no finer place than Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting to hunt a large black bear at close range.

Due to popular request Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting will be offering a special fall bear hunt and fishing combo. Guests will be staying at Maria Lake, our beautiful all-modern mini-lodge.

Maria Lake has long been extremely popular with fishermen, holds huge northern pike, lake trout and arctic graying and has been featured in Field and Stream and with Cabelas. It hold huge populations of big black bear and what little with the little hunting we have done there has produced 600 lb and 400 lb black bears and a 300 lb cinnamon. There was also a monster blonde roaming the area but the few hunters we have has here never got an opportunity to take him.

Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting now offers trophy whitetail hunts around Swan River, Manitoba. We hunt the local provincial parks and huge deer have been taken, some scoring over 200 B + C.

Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting specialize in hunting big bulls, moose averaging from 42" to 52", have taken several at 57" and seen giants over 60". Our terrain consists of a vast region with over 12 rivers and a hundred lakes. Throw-in the various forest fires which have run through the area and caused a regeneration of vegetation and you have the ideal habitat for big moose.

Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting hunt form a variety of camps, ranging from our plush outpost camps to well-appointed tent camps. We choose the camp per the situation and utilize vast area to constantly rotate hunts year to year. Camps hold from 1-4 hunters per camp and Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting rarely mix parties.

The best-kept secret in hunting. For those who do their homework the Manitoba barren ground caribou hunt is the finest opportunity to take a potential record book caribou.

Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting caribou, the Qamairjuaq herd, migrate every year into northern Manitoba from their calving grounds in Nunavut. The caribou herd is estimated at over 450,000 caribou. The quality of this herd is amazing and Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting is limited to hosting only 25 non-resident hunters per year. The Manitoba terrain also offers advantages over other caribou hunts. The Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting area is tundra yet offers a mix of rolling terrain by stalking and spotting instead of waiting for the caribou to come by you.

The camp is based on No-Name Lake, a large body of water straddling the Manitoba and Nunavut border and sitting between two major migration routes. We also have boat access to other lakes, offering even more area if needed. Canadian Sub-Arctic Hunting caribou hunts a designed for you to enjoy a full experience of the Manitoba tundra.
