The Bracewell's are legendary in the Chilcotin. Their real-life exploits and tales of high adventure rival any Hollywood script. From hunting rogue man-killing bears, parachuting off of thousand foot cliffs, finding never-before seen dinosaur fossils in the shale, spending bone-shilling nights in snow caves to fishing alone on a quiet lake that stretches further than the eye can see, you too could come and experience the legends.
Their land is both the most rugged and the most peaceful - perfect for the range of folks they cater to: from fighter pilots who want to trophy hunt the big game to special tours for people with disabilities. They even have horses for every temperament.
We are a Canadian family of professional hunters with a background of 75 years of big game guiding in the same area. Our Certified Guide area encompasses 1000 plus sq. miles of the Coast Mountain Wilderness. Located between two parks, Tsylos and Nuit, and situated in the special resource development zone which gives us confidence that we will have a true wilderness area over the long term .Most of the area is accessed by horse on our trail network and seldom do we see any one else through the hunting season.
Our Lodge offers all the comforts of home, private bathrooms, home cooked meals and stories of historical accomplishments by those who did it. ( My father built the Bella Coola road from Anihim Lake to the other side of Young Creek in the 40s. And my mom had the first certified guide territory in the region. The guide territory has been passed down for three generations) While on your hunt we stay in Mt. Cabins, tents, or under a fly tarp, depending on the weather and area that we are in. We cape and care for your trophy and assist in export if necessary.
